Embroidered 3 D Waterlily -Art from Nature

As mentioned, the pond (nature) can be inspirational. My wife resurrected one of her works to illustrate the point.
Each petal was free-hand embroidered separately and then later assembled into the 3 D piece.

The water was made by wrapping threads around a core and coiling and joining that wrapped core. (Not unlike a woven basket -only flat.)
Beads were added for the stamens.

The water lily in the pond provided the stimulus for this piece. The challenge was in the creating.
