Manuela and the Embroidered Photo Pillow
Our son-in-law is a very good amateur photographer who lives near the Beach in Toronto. While out and about with his dogs -and often he and they are down at the shore of Lake Ontario- he will take photographs of the scenes about him. Manuela became enamoured a couple of his pieces and wanted to incorporate the image into an art piece.
Manuela printed one of his pictures (the one of the lonely wooden snow fence collapsing on the lake shore) and printed it onto fabric. (Now there is a job in itself.) Then, she machined stitched the printed image free hand. She made touch ups of the coloration where needed and then sewed the cloth with the image onto a pillow she had made. The pillow graces a bed somewhere and is enjoyed for the image as well as the memory.
