Manuela begins work on Gourd/Coiled Baskets

Manuela had broken her wrist which made working on her art work troublesome.  However she joined me in the studio and started to add coiled work to gourds she had dyed, cut and drilled.

Voila!!

Manuela dyed the gourd, cut a bottom and a top, drilled the holes to hold the coils and added Italian silk ribbon to make the coils .  She also covered a wooden bead with the Italian ribbon and added it to the lid of the coiled basket.
