Oil Pastel Greys in the Landscape

On a foggy day with trees frost and snow crusted, I saw only grey.  The fir trees stood cold and slumped along the hill beside the highway as I drove by to town.  Sennelier has a variety of grey oil pastel sticks and I used a number of them.  But, when all was done the colour in the greys seemed dissipated just like it appeared when I stopped to draw and photograph.  Back at the studio the negative spaces really become noticeable in such a composition.

I wanted to relook at a couple of pieces I had done at the beginning of my daily drawing/painting exercise in oil pastels.  Sennelier oil pastels do take some time to get used to and in some ways dictate how you draw/paint your image.
