Finished oil pastel on artists' postcard paper. |
Well, I have been getting into the studio each day and completing an oil pastel art piece on 4"x 6" artists' postcard paper. Each piece has its challenges: reflections in the river water and the soft, thick textural nature of the pastel stick are the challenges. I have been used to the crisp lines of my burnt images that have then been painted with thin, fluid acrylic paints.

I used solvent to develop the dark values -and some medium areas. |
Looking at these oil pastel pieces on the internet, I see where improvements can be made should I do a larger painting or pastel piece.
