Oil Pastel -Down by the River

Snow is slowly melting and I did an oil pastel down by the bridge in our neighbourhood that crosses over the Grand River.  Soon the rains will come and the river will swell and rush downstream.  So, I did this oil pastel from the bridge.  The train trestle supports stand like soldiers from the land through the river to the other side.
Everything seems so stark -the white against the blue, trees against the snow as well.  I couldn't get over the blue in the water.   The blue is almost surreal in the landscape.
