Punch Needle Craft Work

Punch needle work has become a new craft venture for my wife. The images are done in embroidery thread and a special needle that you push (punch) through the material to create a loop of thread on the reverse side. The result is a raised, textural image.

These are her first renderings of punch needle. the resulting images are rather small -5" x 7" being large. The scarabs are 2" x 2."

Often this technique has been used with folk art images of past years. Modernizing the images is a challenge.

Me, I have to get back to my art work but the yard work is calling.
