Oil Pastel Changes to a Previously Pastelled Rock Formation Art Piece by PCM
In a previous blog I had rendered an oil pastel of a rock formation on route Highway 11 north to our cottage. Once I had viewed it on our blog I was not as happy with it as I had been. I remember the starkness of the rock against a very dark blue sky and I had not stayed true to what I had remembered on the cold, trip day. So, I scraped away the sky and redid it in the darker blue but then had to adjust everything else, otherwise the sky would have been too, too much.
And all this is done on a 5" x 7" illustration board that I had taped to my easel and stood u to paint.
