An Oil Pastel of Rock Formations Along Highway 11
Despite my lack of energy I managed an oil pastel from the photos taken along our route to and from our northern island cottage. I painted the board with acrylic oxide and loured the darks. I picked out the palette from my Sennelier oil pastels and put them on my tray. I painted a 4” x 6” canvass with thick, creamy oil pastels that create an impasto look. This rock formation had an undulating rhythm that made my eyes flow left and right. Breaks and arcs moved my eyes up and down. Working small certainly has its challenges.
