Oil Pastel Marigolds

I have begun Nordic walking and passed by a low lying wooded area with marigolds pushing up through the tangle of dried, fallen cattails.  I stopped to view and later rendered the image in an oil pastel art work on the grey, green board.  I mashed the oil pastels to create the marigold flowers and the leaves.  The ground was too busy and I wanted places to rest the eyes and so lightly smoothed out the ground areas.  This let the fallen cattails stand out over the marigolds.
